History of the Company
Ubora is a family-owned business founded in 1980, with one goal in mind: To provide our customers with the best hair-care products available, at an affordable price, without sacrificing quality. In 1982, that vision led to the creation of our own product line called Ubora (pronounced Yu-boh-rah) a name used by the ancients to denote Beauty, “Eminence and Magnificence”. Our first two products consisted of a Curl Activator Moisturizer and a Comb-Out Oil-sheen.
By 1988, Ubora’s Smooth as Silk was established as a Salon Professional only product line under the Ubora name. By 1992 the success of both products was undeniable with over 27 products and a continuing product expansion.
Ubora Complete Hair Care System is sold as retail and wholesale items through direct sales by regional distributors and a Sales Force, and through Beauty Supply stores around the country.
In 1991 we established a product called Glo & Shine which is styling gel, this product was created to compete with major competitors in the market. This product has proved to be our best seller. By 1995 we developed another product to embrace and enhance the growth of the Glo & Shine texturizing gel called Glo & Shine Shine spray.
